Youth in the community

Student registration is open! Click here to register!

Sunday, June 2nd - Saturday, June 8th, 2024

The perpetual summer dilemma of a Junior or Senior High student is that they are too old for kid activities, but too young for a job. What is a young man or young lady, going into 7th grade - 12th grade,  supposed to do?

This summer, LIFE Fellowship Frederick has the solution!

Have your child join many others from this region, June 2nd-8th, for an unforgettable time serving our community, learning new skills, meeting new friends, AND having fun to cap it all off. Each day will be broken down into two segments:

Work Hard and Play Hard.

Adult Volunteer registration is open. Click here to register!

  • Participants: In or going into 7th Grade - 12th grade.
  • We will have some new registration policies in place this year to help us effectively serve our LOCAL community. We will have a specific number of slots available for:
    1. Our church youth.
    2. Youth who do NOT attend a church, but are part of our community.
    3. Youth from outside our geographic area.
Last year we ran into an issue with a large number of returning participants from outside our region - plus their age-eligible siblings - taking the majority of places in the registration. One of our goals is to reach the unsaved teens of our community. We will be more intentional about preserving opportunity for first-time local participants. Please notify your circle of friends about the upcoming changes so we can minimize the inevitable disappointment!

Those from the Broomfield area are welcome to apply for Youth in the Community at Life Church in Broomfield.

Work HArd

It seems as though today's society has failed to communicate the value of hard work, cooperation, and selfless service. The "Youth in the Community" program is designed to help reinforce these time-honored principles by applying the efforts of the most energetic within our community with those who are in most need. Our leadership team has identified several service opportunities that are well within the skill set of a 7th-12th grader.

Each day groups of students will go out, under the careful eye of adult supervision, to pre-determined work locations, with a specific objective in place. All tools, materials, and food / water, will be at each site. During this time participants will be expected to give their best effort to serve one another. Hard work and good quality effort will be honored on a daily basis by program leadership, as well as by their peers. The "Work Hard" segment will occur during cooler morning hours so as not to put any of the participants in a position of harm or exhaustion due to excessive heat.

play hard

In the afternoon, the whole group will go out for a time of some insane fun. There are too many variables at this time to match specific events to certain days, but some of the options include: Boondocks, Elitch Gardens, Rock Climbing / Rappelling, Swimming, Roller Skating, and a 2-night camping trip! Rest assured, your child(ren) will come home well prepared to go to sleep each day!
